Dont Let Birth Control Weight Gain Control You
Planning and regulating many aspects of our lives is something we all have to do. Some are better than others and we each have weaknesses and strengths. For some keeping trim and fit is easy. For others family planning is something they have under control. But what about when some of these things are taken out of your control?
Of course we also plan for our careers, and vacations, we set goals and make arrangements for various upcoming events and organize our homes and work life. But when it comes to family planning and weight control, sometimes we dont have as much control as we would like.
Making the decision to take birth control is one that many women make. We decide to make our own choices about when we want to become pregnant. With some kinds of birth control pills, though, making this choice might take away some other choices.
Hormonal contraceptive pills are a highly effective way to prevent pregnancy. They are simple to use, you must only remember to take the pill every day. Even more convenient, you can use the patch which you apply on your skin and wear for a week. It delivers the hormones which are absorbed through your skin. It couldnt be easier!
This is all well and good for those who want to keep from getting pregnant and control that one aspect of their lives, but some have found that the hormones their body gets from these kinds of contraception can cause various other problems which are hard to control.
Altering the hormone levels in the body has more effects than just preventing you from getting pregnant. You may experience nausea, headaches, breast tenderness and mood swings. Birth control weight gain is another thing that many women seem to experience.
Gaining weight is something that most of us dont want to do. Many of us know what things we need to do or avoid in order to maintain our weight, but when your body is thrown off its natural course, it can sometimes be more difficult to keep that balance.
Birth control weight gain is frustrating because you may not otherwise change your lifestyle and yet you are stuck with this extra unwanted weight. It is a good idea to talk to your doctor about it. Maybe a different prescription will work better for you, or maybe the birth control weight problems will go away on their own after a few months of taking the contraception.
If you experience birth control weight gain it is best to do the same things you would with other types of weight gain. Watch what and when you eat and be sure you are getting exercise. This will not only help you lose or keep off unwanted weight, but also help you to feel better in general and take back control of this aspect of your life.
